Casa Garras is a small family business founded by Pilar Tejera and Bernardino Llamosas more than 45 years ago. They were joined by their son Jose Mari, who cut his teeth in the restaurant, later marrying Natividad Orcasitas who excels in making delicious stews. With this background, it should come as no surprise that the third generation of the Llamosas family has joined the hospitality business, bringing new ideas and even making improvements, which is no easy task! Txema Llamosas, who studied hospitality at Artxanda and trained in the kitchens of Azurmendi, with Eneko Atxa, and Arzak, Zuberoa and El Bulli, with Ferrán Adriá, is in charge of the kitchen at Casa Garras where he uses local produce and flavours in his dishes, making a name for himself in the Encartaciones district as a benchmark restaurant. Alongside his sister Pilar Llamosas, an experienced oenologist in well-known wineries such as Raventós i Blanc (Cava), Quinta Sardonia (DO Ribera del Duero) and Itsasmendi (Txakolina), and also creator of the first Txakoli from the family vineyards in the Carranza Valley, he is responsible for their amazing, extensive cellar which will be a delight for your palate. Our wine list is constantly changing, so don’t be afraid to ask us for a recommendation if you wish to discover surprising new wines.
