Salt has been produced in Leintz-Gatzaga since the Iron Age in boilers called dorla. Located in a unique environment, the salty water of the spring is cooked by burning wood from the forests and salt is extracted slowly from the surface of the water. The history of this saline can be found at the Gatz Museoa. Salt production was resumed in 2014, combining tradition and innovation, and 10 different products are currently marketed under "Dorletako Gatza | Salt of Dorleta" brand.
